Do I actually not need to download an app?
Correct. ChainScorer runs entirely in your web browser. Open Safari, Chrome, Firefox — whatever you have. Go to the URL. Start scoring. It even works offline mid-round and syncs when you reconnect. No App Store, no Google Play, no storage space consumed.
Does everyone in my group need an account?
Nope. Only you — the scorekeeper — needs one. You add your group as guests with just their name. Their scores show up correctly on the leaderboard and the round summary. They never touch the phone unless you hand it to them to marvel at the leaderboard.
My local course isn't on here. Now what?
Build it. Takes about 3 minutes. Enter the course name, city, state, set par for each hole (defaults to all par 3 so it's fast), optionally add distances. You can even add two layouts — Short and Long. Once built, it's saved forever and you can use it every round.
What happens if I lose signal mid-round?
Nothing bad. ChainScorer detects when you go offline and queues your scores locally. The moment you reconnect, everything syncs automatically. You'll see a small banner at the top when offline so you're never caught off guard.
What does the free plan actually include?
Full scoring for any group size, unlimited course creation, eagle and birdie detection on every hole, round summary with share, and your last 3 rounds of history with stats. Most casual players never need anything beyond that. We made free actually work.
What do I get with Pro that makes it worth $2.99?
Unlimited round history (not just 3), your full progress chart across every round you've ever played, Group Tally which shows your head-to-head W/L/T record against every friend you've played with, and all-time personal stats including your best course and best score ever. If you play more than once a month, it pays for itself in satisfaction alone.
Can I share my round results with my group?
Yes. One tap on the share button after a round generates a perfectly formatted text: course name, date, final standings, eagle callouts, birdie counts. Send it straight to your group chat. It reads like a sports ticker. Your friends will want to play again just to top it.
Is my data private?
You control it. You can toggle whether other players can find you by username, and whether your scores show to others in shared rounds. Your data is yours — we don't sell it, share it, or use it for advertising. Full stop.
Your group chat will love this.
